Love the litter entry! You better be a moderncat subscriber too, hehe. It’s so YOU. Anyway, I can’t find World’s Best close by, and I just wanted to cry having to buy clay litter (the horror of what they do to get clay just kills my inner environmentalist) so recently Arm and Hammer released a natural version that is available in my local Wal-Mart. The kittles (as my two are known) transitioned seamlessly and it does seem to last longer and in general be more pleasant to both fill and clean. Funny how the natural stuff all seems better overall!

Another neat thing I’ve loved to see done with tires is making them into planters and of course SWINGS!! 😀 Getting on a tire swing can be a good way to channel ‘hearing’ your inner child’s impulses better too like you mentioned in the quote.

    Great issue!

I will have to the new cat litter. The boys (as they are called in my house) have been using Feline Pine for 3 years, but I am sure they will transition well to this. I like FP and all, but it just does not handle odor AT ALL.

Thanks again for all the wonderful tips and info.
And I am working my way back on the exercise wagon. Hopefully it slows down a bit this time, Im tired of falling off!

It’s funny, my sister was just telling me about that cat litter yesterday! I know, I know, I’m a week behind on my reading, but when I read your newsletter from last week it just made me smile! One thing that you didn’t mention that she did,… apparently it’s *gasp* flushable!! YAY!

As far as this week’s wonderful newsletter,… *loved* it! Those muffins sound AWESOME and I am sooo going to make them! YES! The ‘green tip’ for this week was also really cool. I try to be as eco-friendly as I can (And I NEVER buy Styrofoam. Not so much as the landfill issue, though, as the issue that the chemicals from the Styrofoam leach out into the food. Same with plastics actually. All my food storage bowls are glass.) I’m more ‘holistic’ in my thinking/way of living than ‘enviro-friendly’, although the two often do go hand-in-hand. And lately I have been trying to marry the two together more often. Anywho,… I loved the “china” idea and also your substitute for paper plates (I’m going to do some research and look into that as an option). And you’re so right about white, never really thought about white being so perfect before,… but it sooo is! Thanks for that!!

Cali – Thanks for bringing up the point about the toxins leeching into the food. I was going to talk about that, but since I had already gone on a rampage about it in How To Be An Average Goddess (www.averagegoddess-freebook.com), I didn’t want to beat the dead horse. It’s hard to know where the line is between saying something enough times that people go “Ok, I’ll stop doing that,” versus rolling their eyes and waiting for me to move on. =P So thanks for doing it for me!!

The recipe for this week… I can already tell it’s going to be a winner! Pesto is one of my all time favorite sauces. Never really thought about adding tomatoes,… but yeah, that would really enhance the whole dish. It’s funny too, because as I was reading your recipe I was thinking that some chicken sautéed in a pan with, oh three cloves of garlic (we *love* garlic at my house =) would make this dish over-the-top good. (Plus I have just been craving lean protein (chicken and fish) like you wouldn’t believe lately.) And then I looked at your notes in the bottom and you mentioned chicken and garlic. Ha! The pine nuts I did not think about, but OMG, yes! Totally going to add those in too. I love to cook complicated dishes, but the simple ones that only taste complex are even better! Keep ’em coming!!

LOVE the latest recipe and stuff in the last SotS!! YUM and so easy and fast!! Man, these recipes just might convert me into a much better cook. I also added the Tom Robbins book to my booksfree.com queue, can’t wait to test drive him! Tell me you’ve read Christopher Moore??

Those pita dippers, … wow! All your stuff is so easy and yet super healthy and delectable. I’m going to have to search for ingredients with less sodium, though, as 1100 mg is well,… yikes!

As far as the National Do Not Mail Registry,… I work for a company that helps non profits with their direct mail marketing campaigns. (Read: I am part of the industry that basically is the reason for the targeted charitable requests that you receive. There’s also the for-profit sector which is where the catalog offers and the like come from…) There already is a list, by the way, that you can get on if you don’t want to receive any offers and it’s less restrictive than the Do Not Mail bills that are being proposed in numerous states: https://www.dmachoice.org/.

But In the interest in full disclosure on the National Do Not Mail Registry issue, here is a link to the other side of the story: http://www.the-dma.org/mailmovesamerica/

And I like clicking the link to read your newsletter by the way.

Hey Cali! Yeah, I know the sodium is a whopper, but hey, compared to a REAL pizza, well, it doesn’t look so bad! 😀 Thanks for the awesome links to more info on the Do Not Mail business. Always helpful to see the options! (Between you and me, I like clicking the link too, cuz I like the pretty version!)

I love the fear commentary in SoS 7. It makes me think perhaps my latin tattoo should be Befriend your fear instead of Defy your fear…..

Work-family and just work-life stress is one of the areas of research my field is primarily concerned with. The general advice from about.com is good advice, but #1 it’s important for everyone (even the single people) to remember to connect to people outside of work. People need other people, and the support they have outside of and at work often mitigates the stress their job may cause them – resulting in less health concerns and more happiness.

Imagine me blushing bright red here! Thanks for the shout-outs and comments my darling, that was very sweet! I’m working on a fun photomanipulation of a Monet with my best friend’s dog worked into one of his famous paintings for her for Christmas. Art is my sanity! I always forget how much it means to me until I don’t do it for a while.

I also like the click through on the newsletter. Great job on AGTV too, you’ve done really well with it all! There’s a lot more possible advice for keeping fitness going in the winter too beyond the one quote. I mean – change your routine to something warmer, more feasible during stress and travel, etc.

    ❤ you.

I forgot a huge part of what I wanted to say, eek! There’s a huge move toward Positive oriented Psychology at the moment, in all areas of the field. It confirms what that quote you mentioned says, and there are some really amazing things coming out of this research such as how to train yourself to be more hardy and to have better coping skills for stress.

Paint – what are the chances of us both having tattoos in latin? Seriously? No wonder we’re friends. 😀 It is one of the most difficult things I can think of to recognize fear as a friend, but oh-so-beneficial. Realistically, once you conquer your fear of fear, what other limitations are there??? I strive for THAT.
